Eligibility to apply
1. Solar power generation businesses with a facility capacity of less than 30 kW
2. Solar power generation businesses with a capacity of less than 100 kW are farmers under the Framework Act on Agriculture-Rural and Food Industry, fishermen under the Framework Act on Fisheries-Fishery Village Development,
A person who has obtained business permission under the Livestock Act or registered the Livestock Farming Act.
Solar power plants under 100 kW: agriculture, livestock and fishermen. The cooperative can participate in submitting documents proving its qualifications.
※ Cooperative: refers to a cooperative or a cooperative consisting of agriculture, livestock, and fishermen under the Framework Act on Cooperatives.
3. A farming association, etc. that promotes a solar power generation project with a facility capacity of less than 100 kW by combining the members of the above 2.
4. "Among the cooperatives under the Framework Act on Cooperatives, those who promote solar power projects with a facility capacity of less than 100 kW and whose energy projects are specified in the articles of association.
5. A person who installs ESS facilities in connection with photovoltaic power generation facilities that meet one or more of the requirements of paragraphs 1 to 4 above (However, it cannot be applied with ESS facilities alone)
How to participate
New business operator: Select 'Korean power generation difference map (FIT)' when applying for confirmation of RPS facilities after completion of the plant.
Existing business operators: temporary permission (until the end of 2019), application for 'participation in the Korean Power Generation Differential Support System (FIT)' in the Comprehensive Support System for Renewable Energy Supply (RPS).
Contract procedure
After applying for the 'Korean power generation difference support system (FIT), the Korea Energy Corporation will notify the operator of the facility confirmation and sign a fixed price contract with 6 supply obligations* within one month of the notification.
* 6 Supply Agents: Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Korea South-East Power Co., Korea Central Power Co., Korea Western Power Co., Korea Southern Power Co., and Korea East-West Power Co
Procedures for Implementing the Korean FIT System
A selling price.
The higher of the average bid price of less than 100 kW per half year for competitive bidding for fixed price contracts in the previous year.
e.g.) '18 year purchase price (SMP+REC) is KRW 189,175/MWh* and can be supported for 20 years at the same price.
The Korean power generation difference support system (FIT) is expected to improve the stable profitability and procedural convenience of small solar power operators in that it signs contracts with six supply obligations for all contracts applied at fixed prices without separate bidding competition.
